First Officer Brendan Keegan, JD, ATP CFI-MEI
A fierce advocate for the victims behind every case, Brendan is a former Assistant District Attorney and 2025 Prosecutor of the Year who brings several years of proven trial experience to the team, having handled everything from petty misdemeanors to homicides. His practice now focuses on aviation accident litigation and airline liability, where he brings the same precision and discipline developed over more than a decade as an airline pilot to advocating for clients. Brendan splits his time between the firm’s Florida and Seattle offices, providing coast-to-coast support for clients.
Brendan’s aviation career began as a flight instructor in San Diego before becoming a commercial airline pilot based out of New York’s LaGuardia and John F. Kennedy Airports. He later relocated to Florida to work as an instructor and pilot for a major U.S. airline. Brendan is type-rated in Embraer 145, Airbus A320, and Boeing 737 aircraft, bringing deep technical knowledge and firsthand industry experience to his legal practice.
Rooted in Texas from the start, Brendan graduated cum laude from Baylor University and gained early legal experience as a law clerk with the McLennan County District Attorney’s Office in Waco. While at Baylor, he played mellophone and trumpet in the marching band, served as captain of the sailing team, and participated in moot court, where he developed appellate advocacy skills that continue to inform his approach to trial strategy.
In law school, Brendan distinguished himself academically, earning a spot on law review and serving as both a Dean’s Fellow and a teaching assistant for the legal research and writing program. These experiences honed the research, writing, and analytical skills he now applies to building strong cases for his clients.
In addition to his work as a criminal prosecutor, Brendan has represented clients in commercial litigation for businesses in the aerospace and maritime industries. He has served on the Boards of Directors for both the Pilot Mental Health Campaign and AeroMed Legal. Brendan also holds a university faculty appointment in aviation and aerospace law, where his dual background as a pilot and litigator gives students a rare cockpit-to-courtroom perspective.
Brendan is admitted to practice in Washington, Florida, Texas, New Mexico, Vermont, and the United States Tax Court.
